A good equipment move begins before the truck arrives. Confirm the machine’s details, remove loose items and make sure the loading area is suitable.
Identify every attachment
List buckets, thumbs, breakers, grapples, augers, rakes, couplers and extra booms. Tell us whether attachments travel on the machine or separately.
Check operating condition
Explain whether the excavator starts, steers, travels and has working hydraulics. Non-running equipment may require a winch, crane or loading assistance.
Inspect for leaks and loose parts
Address active fluid leaks when possible. Secure doors, panels, mirrors, antennas, tools and removable items before transport.
Clean key areas
Remove excessive mud and debris from tracks, steps and securement areas. Make serial numbers and lifting or tie-down points accessible.
Plan loading access
Confirm firm, level space for the truck and trailer, adequate turning room, overhead clearance and safe access for loading and unloading.
Lower and secure equipment
Place the boom, stick, bucket, blade and other components in the agreed transport position. Follow the carrier’s loading and securement directions.
Coordinate contacts and timing
Provide names and reachable phone numbers for pickup and delivery. Confirm site hours, gate rules, appointments and special access instructions.
